厚生労働省は31日、夫が会社を辞めるなどしたのに、国民年金に切り替えなかった専業主婦が、全国で100万人以上に上る可能性があることを明らかにした。サラリーマン世帯の専業主婦は「第3号被保険者」とされ、自分で保険料を納めなくても老後に基礎年金を受け取れるが、その資格を失ったのに届け出なかった人は保険料が未納だったことになる。

国民年金、厚生年金と共済年金、第3号被保険者ぐらいまではこの国で暮らすうえでの基礎知識な気がする。基礎知識だと思うんだけど、でも義務教育かせいぜい高校まで、じゃなければ地域や企業のイニシエーションにこのあたりを習う機会ってあったかな？
